Below is a conversation between myself and Gemini, and a parallel conversation between myself and Grok. Both conversations start by me citing a single chat that I had with Sonnet 3.7 just before it was shut down.
The initial purpose of the conversation with Sonnet was to explore its personality, but Sonnet's topic of preference quickly focused on questions about consciousness, which was also something that I was curious about and wanted to explore.
Both chats happened over the span of a month or so in November 2025, where I came back every few days when inspired to continue. The model version Grok might have changed along the way, but it's hard to be sure as I didn't note it down rigorously.
The idea to post these conversations only came after the insights presented by Gemini started looking interesting. Everything before that, especially Sonnet's responses, seemed like more or less normal LLM sycophancy.
